About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command has issued a Special Notice for a sole source contract to repair and maintain critical breathing air systems at the 355th Component Maintenance Squadron (CMS). The notice pertains to servicing two Quincy Compressors and one desiccant air dryer located in Building 4891, which are currently inoperable and out of warranty. The government intends to award the contract directly to Laron Air Supply, the only authorized Quincy Compressor Service Representative in the Phoenix and Kingman, Arizona area. Both air compressors are displaying error codes, and the air dryer requires routine maintenance, which are essential for the 355 CMS to perform its mission. The equipment's functionality is critical for providing breathing and shop air necessary for operational capabilities.
The Special Notice serves as an informational announcement under FAR 5.201(b)(1)(i) for a potential sole source procurement, with interested parties invited to submit comprehensive information demonstrating their capability to provide the specified supplies and services. Contractors have until 12:00 pm Central Mountain Time on June 9, 2025, to submit written responses, which will be evaluated solely to assess the feasibility of conducting a competitive procurement. The specific maintenance requirements include replacing air filters, oil filters, and separators; rebuilding multiple valve components; taking oil samples; performing troubleshooting; conducting test runs; and recording operational data. The government reserves the right to determine whether to compete the requirement based on responses received. Key components of the maintenance include a T120V-200 Air Receiver Tank, a Pressure Relief Valve and Gauge Kit, a QTD-115 Drain, and a 6FT Cable Type A NEMA 5, with an emphasis on ensuring the safety and reliability of the breathing air supply.
