About this opportunity
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) within the Department of Justice has issued a Special Notice announcing its intent to award a sole source purchase order to DocketScope, Inc. for 35 subscriptions to support the DEA's Diversion Program and Workload (DPW) staff. Posted on January 29, 2026, this notice is issued under the Competition in Contracting Act authority for sole source acquisitions when only one responsible source exists and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The acquisition is classified under NAICS 541511 (Custom Computer Programming Services) and involves a firm fixed price purchase order for commercial services. This Special Notice informs the public of the government's intent to proceed with a non-competitive award while providing an opportunity for interested parties to submit a capabilities statement by the February 2, 2026 deadline.
The primary objective of this acquisition is to procure DocketScope's cloud-based SaaS platform subscription services to enhance productivity for DEA staff by automating manual and time-consuming tasks related to analyzing public comments during regulatory processes. The platform enables users to focus on higher-value analytical work while the system handles data preparation, organization, pattern and trend analysis, and workflow management. Contractors interested in submitting a capabilities statement must do so electronically to calvin.jackson@dea.gov by February 2, 2026, though this notice explicitly states that it is not a request for competitive quotation and an RFQ is not available. The government's determination not to open the requirement to full and open competition is solely within its discretion, and market research has confirmed that DocketScope is the only service capable of satisfying the agency's specific requirements. Eligibility for this opportunity is limited to companies capable of providing equivalent supplies and services, though the government has already identified DocketScope as the sole source meeting its needs.
