About this opportunity
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Walla Walla District is hosting a free Small Business Industry Day on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the Marcus Whitman Conference Center in Walla Walla, Washington. This event is designed to provide business owners and representatives with insights into doing business with the Corps, specifically within the Walla Walla District, which covers 107,000 square miles across six states. The district manages significant infrastructure, including six hydroelectric power facilities, and annually awards contracts averaging $100 to $150 million for construction projects, Architect-Engineering studies, and various services. The Walla Walla District, one of 41 districts within the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, is responsible for environmental, hydroelectric, navigation, engineering, construction, emergency management, and recreation services.
The Industry Day aims to offer comprehensive training and networking opportunities for small businesses interested in government contracting. Participants will engage in informational briefings presented by District Staff, Small Business Administration, and APEX Accelerator, with sessions covering SBA regulatory updates, contracting processes, and a forecast of upcoming opportunities. Contractors must register in advance due to limited seating, and while the event is free, registration is mandatory through the provided Eventbrite link. The day will feature a Corps panel discussion, breakout sessions on specific service areas including A&E Services, Construction, Hydropower, Flood Risk-Emergency Response, Navigation, Recreation, and Environmental contracts, and opportunities for direct engagement with district decision-makers. Large businesses can also reserve information tables to connect with potential small business partners. Contractors with little to no government contracting experience are encouraged to contact APEX Accelerators and Small Business Development Centers for additional training and support.
