About this opportunity

This Special Notice announces the Department of the Interior Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement's intent to issue a sole source contract for research on the 2023-24 freeze-up and break-up of Arctic sea ice in the US Beaufort and Chukchi Seas. The Bureau will award an 18-month contract to Coastal Frontiers Corporation to build upon knowledge gained from previous freeze-up observations and obtain initial understanding of break-up conditions.

The purpose of the sole source contract is to leverage Coastal Frontiers Corporation's unique qualifications, including serving as primary investigator for the annual freeze-up effort since 2009 and possessing proprietary data and experience conducting reconnaissance flights. Interested firms must submit a capability statement by June 20th referencing solicitation number 140E0123R0009 via email to be considered, however the Bureau has determined Coastal Frontiers Corporation is uniquely qualified due to its historical data access and experience. Any interested contractors must demonstrate how they can meet the objectives of building on previous knowledge and initial break-up understanding to be eligible for consideration, though the Bureau currently intends to award solely to Coastal Frontiers Corporation.
