About this opportunity

This Special Notice announces the Department of the Interior Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement's intent to issue a sole source contract for research on freeze-up and break-up of Arctic sea ice in the Alaskan Beaufort and Chukchi Seas. The contract will be awarded non-competitively to Coastal Frontiers Corporation, the incumbent contractor and primary investigator for this research effort since 2009.

The research aims to build upon knowledge from previous studies utilizing historical radar satellite imagery vital to analysis, as well as proprietary data from prior joint industry projects, which Coastal Frontiers Corporation retains exclusive rights to and cannot release to any other entity per existing agreements. The period of performance is 18 months from date of award. While sole sourcing Coastal Frontiers Corporation, responsible sources may submit capability statements or proposals by May 27, 2021, for consideration under solicitation number 140E0121R0006 issued by the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement within the Department of the Interior.
