About this opportunity

The Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) Philadelphia is seeking eligible contractors to manufacture a specific nitrogen filter (NSN 7RH 1680 016336191, P/N: 2050108-103) for aircraft applications. The government intends to solicit proposals exclusively from approved sources under FAR 6.302-1, with a strict requirement that all parts must be FAA-Certified and possess an FAA Authorized Release Certificate (FAA Form 8130-3 Airworthy Approval Tag). Potential contractors are invited to submit capability statements within 5 days of the notice's publication, with the government retaining sole discretion on whether to compete the contract based on received responses. The procurement will target suppliers capable of providing airworthy replacement parts that meet specific FAA regulatory standards outlined in FAA Order 8130.21G and AC 20-62. Interested contractors should contact the Procuring Contracting Officer (PCO), Patrick Kilkenny, at PATRICK.J.KILKENNY2.CIV@US.NAVY.MIL for any questions.

This pre-solicitation notice is not designated with any specific set-aside status, indicating it is open to a broad range of potential contractors within the Other Aircraft Parts and Auxiliary Equipment Manufacturing (NAICS 336413) category. While specific award value or contract duration are not disclosed, the procurement focuses on a precise technical requirement for a specialized nitrogen filter with strict airworthiness certification standards. The government's approach suggests a targeted, potentially sole-source procurement method that prioritizes technical compliance and FAA certification over competitive pricing. No incumbent contractors are mentioned in the notice, and the precise quantity of filters needed is not specified. The short response window of 5 days indicates the government is seeking to move quickly in identifying potential suppliers who can meet the exacting technical and regulatory requirements for this critical aircraft component.
