About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Aviation Philadelphia is seeking eligible contractors to manufacture a specific latch assembly (NSN 1560 01-608-9002) for the P8 Aircraft. The agency intends to solicit and potentially negotiate with only one source or a limited number of responsible sources under FAR 6.302-1 authority. Contractors interested in this opportunity must submit capability statements and proposals within 15 days of the notice's publication date (by February 10, 2025). The government currently does not possess the necessary data to perform the required manufacturing of this aircraft component. Prospective contractors must be prepared to provide comprehensive information, including a Source Approval Request package, which can be obtained through the Navy's supply support website.

This pre-solicitation notice does not have a specific set-aside designation, indicating the opportunity is open to a broad range of contractors. While no specific award value is mentioned, the procurement focuses on a critical aircraft parts manufacturing contract in the Other Aircraft Parts and Auxiliary Equipment Manufacturing category (NAICS 336413). Contractors must be prepared to submit detailed technical capabilities and potentially undergo a source approval process, which the agency notes will not delay the overall contract award. The contracting officer, Daria Wilson, can be contacted at Daria.Wilson@dla.mil for additional information. Interested firms should carefully review the Source Approval Information Brochure for Spares and be prepared to demonstrate their manufacturing capabilities for this specialized P8 Aircraft latch assembly.
