About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration (VA) is seeking potential vendors to replace portable fire extinguishers for the Northern Indiana Healthcare System at its Marion and Fort Wayne VA Medical Center campuses. The procurement involves sourcing approximately 500 fire extinguishers of various types, including 5#, 10#, and 20# ABC models, Halotron, K-Class, CO2, and Purple K extinguishers. The contract requires vendors to handle complete removal and disposal of existing extinguishers, and provide new UL-rated equipment with delivery, installation, and tagging services. Interested vendors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and submit detailed response information including business name, contact details, Unique Entity ID, and product specifications. Responses are due by May 19, 2025, at 4:00 PM EST, with submissions to be emailed to Barbara Robertson using solicitation number 36C25025Q0570.

The procurement explicitly targets service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses (SDVOSB), veteran-owned small businesses (VOSB), and other small businesses within the NAICS category 339999 with a business size standard of 550 employees. While no specific set-aside has been designated, the solicitation demonstrates a preference for veteran-owned business participation. The contract covers two VA Medical Center locations: Marion (1700 E 38th Street) and Fort Wayne (2121 Lake Avenue) in Indiana. The Product Service Code is 1290 for Miscellaneous Fire Control Equipment, and the contracting office is located in Cincinnati, Ohio. Although no specific award value is mentioned, the procurement involves replacing fire safety equipment across two healthcare facilities, suggesting a comprehensive and potentially significant contract opportunity for qualified vendors.
