Update #3 · Latest ·

Raytheon Co., Tucson, Arizona, is being awarded a $4,584,985 firm-fixed-price modification to a previously awarded contract (N00024-15-C-5406) for Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) items in support of the Phalanx Close-In-Weapon-System (CIWS) program. The procurement will combat the negative affect that DMSMS has on materiel readiness and operational availability, which, in turn, affect both combat operations and safety.

Update #2 ·

Raytheon Co., Tucson, Arizona, is being awarded a $12,547,749 firm-fixed-price modification to a previously awarded contract (N00024-15-C-5406) for hardware kits in support of the Phalanx Close-In-Weapon-System (CIWS) program. The Phalanx CIWS hardware kits are intended to upgrade the Phalanx weapons system to the latest approved configuration. Work will be performed in El Segundo, California (80 percent); and Louisville, Kentucky (20 percent), and is expected to be completed by March 2019. Fiscal 2017 weapons procurement (Navy) funding in the amount of $12,547,749 will be obligated at time of award and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, District of Columbia, is the contracting activity.

Update #1 ·

The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to issue a solicitation to Raytheon Company/Raytheon Missile Systems (RMS) of Tucson, AZ, P.O. Box 11338, Tucson, AZ 85734-1337 for procurement, on a sole source basis, of production requirements for FY15/16 for the following supplies:  MK 15 CIWS Phalanx Block 1B Baseline 2 upgrade kits and conversions, including Radar Upgrade Kits; MK 15 Mod 29 CIWS Land-Based Phalanx Weapon Systems (LPWS) overhauls; MK 15 Mod 29 CIWS LPWS hardware product improvement, ancillary equipment, spares, and provisioned item orders (PIO); MK 15 Mod 31 CIWS SeaRAM upgrade kits and conversions; MK 15 CIWS hardware product improvements; MK 15 CIWS ancillary equipment, spares, and PIO; and, MK 15 CIWS Class A Overhauls.

RMS is the only qualified domestic producer of MK 15 Phalanx and SeaRAM Close-in Weapon Systems and is the only source known to possess the requisite knowledge and expertise to meet DoD requirements.  MK 15 CIWS is highly complex and would require substantial investment in time and money to qualify additional sources.

Please address questions concerning subcontracting opportunities to RMS.
