About this opportunity
The General Services Administration Public Buildings Service Region 8 is seeking a design-build contractor to renovate the Probation office space on the third floor of the Bruce M. Van Sickle Federal Building & U.S. Courthouse in Minot. The project involves making alterations to existing office space to provide a fresh new look and accommodate increased staff, while also securing newly acquired space by closing off the public corridor to connect the two areas. The contractor will be responsible for all aspects of design and construction, including providing in-house or subcontracted licensed Architect and Engineering services, field surveys of as-built conditions, coordination with GSA and the tenant agency, and preparation of bidding documents and construction administration. The contractor may begin construction prior to design completion upon receiving written approval from GSA. This pre-solicitation notice was posted on August 27, 2025, with a due date of September 27, 2025.
This opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside under NAICS code 236220 for Commercial and Institutional Building Construction and PSC code Z2AA for Repair or Alteration of Office Buildings. The notice does not identify any incumbent contractors or specific budget ranges for the project. No specific timeline for completion of services is provided in the pre-solicitation documentation, though the design-build format suggests an integrated approach where design and construction phases will overlap. The project scope focuses on renovating existing third-floor office space within the federal courthouse building, though exact square footage or detailed specifications are not specified in this initial notice. The contracting opportunity represents a complete design-build solution for federal office space modernization and security improvements.
