About this file

This document is a Notice of Intent to Single Source for a specialized X-ray crystallography equipment upgrade at the US Air Force Academy. The Air Force intends to award a single-source commercial contract to Rigaku Americas Holding, Inc. for modifying an existing Synergy-i system by de-installing the current detector and installing a new HyPix-6000HE Hybrid Photon Counting Detector. The specific detector must provide advanced characteristics including no-read noise, direct photon counting, a 77.5 mm × 80.3 mm aperture size, 100 × 100 μm pixel size, and air cooling. Interested parties may submit capability statements demonstrating why competition would be advantageous to the government by 2:00 PM MDT on 5 May 2025, with responses to be sent to specified Air Force email addresses. Contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) to be considered.
