RFQ WX00341Y2017T (MD) Questions and Answers
| Q1. | Will we be allowed to run sweep tests with a site master on both sites? |
| A1. | Yes, but It will require additional coordination on the Baltimore site. The Contracting Officer Representative (COR) and the Technical Monitor ™ will coordinate as needed during the install. If at the time there turns out to be a security issue with getting electronic test equipment in the secure space then the COR or TM will wave that requirement. At this point it is still a requirement as stated in the SOW. During the walk through it was indicated by the site POC that it would not be an issue however it will be coordinated with the security folks at the time the install is happening for final approval. |
| Q2. | Please verify if a ground bar should be installed outside the building to accommodate the exterior coax ground or if coax grounds can be bonded to the existing down conductor via a listed mechanical connection. |
| A2. | It was noted during the walkthrough a ground rod was needed at the base of the tower just off the cement slab at the conduit location. |
| Q3. | Please verify if the PolyPhaser should be bonded to a contractor supplied ground bar within 25 inches of the cable entry into the dispatch center or if it can be installed under the radio. |
| A3. | This was discussed at the walkthrough and it was agreed to have the polyphaser installed on the 7/8 hardline just under the floor at the radio location. That will allow the polyphaser to be the transition point between the 7/8 hardline and the smaller co-ax leading to the radio. |
| Q4. | It is our understanding that some electronic devices necessary for completing the requested coax and antenna system sweeps may not be allowed inside the dispatch center. Please verify if a waiver will be granted for certain deliverables if all tests cannot be performed due to Coast Guard policies. |
| A4. | At the time of the walkthrough it was discussed and noted that this should not be an issue as there is a procedure, such as there is for taking laptops into secure spaces, for the test equipment. That procedure will be executed when needed to get the equipment into the space. If at that time the contractor is unable to get their equipment in the space the TM or COR will waive the sweep requirement. |
