About this file
This document is an addendum to a bid request issued by the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA) for the sale and removal of pier fenders at the MWRA's Nut Island Headworks facility. The bid opening date has been changed from August 25, 2010 to September 15, 2010, and a second site visit will be held on September 9, 2010. The addendum also clarifies requirements for the removal of the property, including the use of a crane staged on the pier, maximum allowable pier loading, and the need to contain any debris, rubbish, or waste materials that may enter the water during the removal operations.
The bid terms and conditions require the buyer to keep the site and adjacent areas free from accumulation of rubbish, debris, and waste materials, and to leave the site broom clean at the end of each business day and after the final removal of the property. The buyer is responsible for the removal of the property using approved equipment and methods to prevent potential impacts in the water.
