About this file

This is a Work List document for the Gold Creek Project in Colorado, detailing mine opening closure specifications and requirements. The project encompasses 13 identified mine features (adits and shafts) located in Gunnison County, Colorado, in the vicinity of Parlin, Ohio City, and Pitkin. The work includes closure of abandoned mine openings using three primary methods: steel grate installation with bat access, corrugated steel pipe (CSP) bulkhead installation, and polyurethane foam (PUF) filling. Ten features require active closure work (GC-01 through GC-10), while three features (GC-11, GC-12, and GC-15) are designated for exclusion from the current scope. Work specifications reference detailed sections from a Scope of Work Specifications (SWS) document and standard drawings, with PUF installations requiring two to three cubic yards per feature and grate installations requiring steel beams, rebar, and access doors constructed to specification standards.

The project sites are distributed across United States Forest Service (USFS) land and private property, with access requirements ranging from adjacent roadside locations to remote sites requiring 300+ feet of hiking over significant elevation changes. Feature depths vary considerably, from 7 feet to 300+ feet, with several features designated as historically eligible for cultural resource protection. Specific UTM NAD83 coordinates are provided for each feature location, along with detailed access directions from US Highway 50 via County Roads 76, 771, and 763. The document does not specify pricing, contract terms, funding sources, performance timelines, or award information, serving instead as a technical specification and location reference document for contractors bidding on or executing the mine closure work.
