About this file
This document is a Prescription for designating trees and other products for cutting and removal on federal lands as part of the Wildcat DxP timber sale project. The Prescription outlines four different cutting unit prescriptions, each with specific criteria for retaining and removing trees based on species, diameter, and basal area targets. The overall objective is to maintain certain basal area levels in the cutting units, ranging from 40-140 square feet depending on the unit. The Prescription also provides additional marking guides for the cutting unit boundaries and trees to be left uncut. This Prescription is associated with the Timber Cruise - Wildcat DxP federal contract opportunity, Solicitation Number 1240BE24Q0138, issued by the Department of Agriculture Forest Service Region 6 - Pacific Northwest Region.

#4 - After applying the above criteria, if more trees are needed in order to achieve the desired 60-80 square feet of basal area, leave only the biggest and best formed live trees.
Additional Marking Guides:
· Cutting unit boundaries are marked by Forest Service with ORANGE tracer paint.
· Any other trees that shall be left uncut are marked with ORANGE tracer paint bands, and stump marks and shall be counted towards the residual basal area.
