This is a specification document for the Wheatridge Recreation Center project issued by the City of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, detailing the technical requirements and standards for a comprehensive LED lighting replacement initiative. The project focuses on replacing existing lighting systems in the Recreation Center's Main Hall and Gymnasium areas with new, energy-efficient LED fixtures and integrated controls. The Request for Proposals (RFP 25-037) requires contractors to provide a turn-key solution including lighting design, fixture installation, electrical drawings, material specifications, and documentation ensuring code and permit compliance. A mandatory pre-proposal meeting is scheduled for October 13, 2025, at the Wheat Ridge Recreation Center, with proposals due by October 24, 2025, at 2:00 pm Mountain Time. The project must be completed within a seven-day installation period in 2025, with work coordinated around the facility's operational schedule.

The city will utilize a best value procurement model evaluating contractors based on qualifications, price, product quality, service capabilities, and alignment with city policies and budget. Preference is given to local Colorado-based contractors capable of demonstrating proficiency in LED lighting design and integration with existing recreational infrastructure. A performance bond will be required, and the contract is subject to annual renewal based on contractor performance and pricing, with the city reserving the right to rebid or terminate the agreement. While specific budget information is not detailed in the specification document, the project involves a sophisticated infrastructure upgrade with a focus on improving energy efficiency, longevity, serviceability, and safety of the facility's lighting systems. The technical documentation suggests the project requires advanced expertise in LED lighting systems and integration capabilities.
