These guidelines enable the City Purchasing Agent to greatly expand procurement programs by moving beyond a singular consideration of “recycled-content”. EPP procurement facilitates the purchase of products that qualify within a broad range of “environmentally preferable” criteria, such as: minimal packaging; energy savings; non-toxic;
manufactured from sustainably-harvested materials. Contractor shall monitor products that fall within the EPP guidelines and document all criteria that qualify the product as an EPP. Documentation from the manufacturer will be acceptable and may be required during the term of the Contract.
