About this file
This is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by Western Colorado University (WCU) for a digital credential, access control, and security system. The RFI seeks information from vendors to replace or modernize the university's current identification, access control, dining services, and security systems. The project involves upgrading solutions for 2,500 students, 350 faculty/staff, and 250 other users across 20 buildings, with 427 controlled doors (347 wired and 80 wireless) and security camera infrastructure. The RFI is solicited under Bid No. WCU-5494, with responses due on April 28, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. MST/MDST.
The proposed solution must provide mobile and physical identification services, dining and printing services, event attendance tracking, and comprehensive physical access control and security surveillance. The university requires a modern, cloud-based management system with intuitive software that supports mobile apps, mag stripe and tap card capabilities, lockdown features, and integrated reporting. The system should integrate with existing platforms like Workday, StarRez, PaperCut, and others. While no specific budget is outlined, the RFI requests vendors to provide a detailed 5-year cost estimate covering software subscriptions, hardware, installation, implementation, and professional services for each solution component.
