About this file

The City of Craig, Colorado has issued an Advertisement for Bid for a Combination Sewer Cleaning Truck Cab and Chassis. The bid solicitation seeks a new tandem axle truck specifically designed for municipal sewer cleaning operations, with detailed technical specifications for a heavy-duty vehicle. Bids are due on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the City Hall, located at 300 West Fourth Street in Craig, Colorado. The bid requires a new current model year truck with comprehensive specifications covering engine performance, transmission, braking systems, cab features, warranties, and other technical requirements. The city reserves the right to reject any or all bids and may consider trading in a 2005 International Vac-Con Combination Sewer Cleaning Truck as part of the procurement.

The technical specifications include precise requirements for a Cummins diesel engine with 450 hp, specific transmission and differential characteristics, comprehensive braking and steering systems, and detailed cab features. The bid requires a minimum 12-month parts and labor warranty, with options for extended warranties on emissions, engine, and transmission. Bidders must provide complete printed literature, publications, and photographs of the proposed unit, and individually annotate each specification item as meeting, exceeding, or not meeting the requirements. The bid form allows for pricing the cab and chassis, extended warranties, and accounting for the potential trade-in vehicle, with the total price to be determined by the bidder. The City of Craig emphasizes that the bid price should include all additional warranties and that the city will select the most appropriate equipment, not necessarily the lowest bid.
