QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

VENDOR QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Can the poly floats be black? The specs do not specify.

A: Yes black The specs call for 12 8inch boat ties, is that 12 ties per 20 foot section or 12 total with 4 on each 20 foot section?

A: Two cleats on each side that way a boat can tie up bow and stern, 4 on each 20 section.

Will the 1 hinge connection be new or will it need to match existing abutment?

A: I will see if I can get a picture of it day.

The specs mention 8 rubber black connectors, the vendor needs more information on where they will be required and what the purpose of the 8 rubber block connects will be.

A: I believe this is the cushion between each dock section that will also hold the dock sections together.

Are we requiring an engineering stamp?

A: No Stamp required.

I have read thru your solicitation request and performance specification. I see nothing that relates to an anchorage requirement beyond being able to attach to a concrete abutment hinge assembly. Is it the agency's intention to use PVC pipes on the farthest most float (either side) to prevent lateral drift of the far sections to the centerline of abutment?

A: We will use a cross chains the anchors, so docks stay straight at the far end. PVC is for old wood piles which are rotten.

I see no pile guide frames for attachment to piles by others, or do you plan to anchor as pictured?

A: we will use some piling attachments later for another dock, not worried about the anchoring right now.

Are all these 6 docks being used at one site to reach 120 Ft offshore / or do you plan to break up for multiple abutment attachments (say 60Ft) at each abutment, please clarify.

A: 3 sections will be used at one location, and another 3 sections at another location.
