ABERDEEN APG BID QUESTIONS
1) How many sites are there total?
2) What systems are located at each location (i.e. if two locations are there 4 strings at each location)?
Existing configuration: 2 locations in the same building. Location #1 is on 1st floor and consist of 7 strings of batteries. Location #2 is in basement and consist of 1 string of batteries.
New configuration: 1 location in the basement
3) Are flooded cells an acceptable alternative? If so, would spill containment be needed?
No. Existing batteries are AGM type and PWS states equivalent or better than the existing.
4) Are Breakers currently installed?
Disconnect Breakers on the battery strings--Yes
5) The run time requested is 2000A for 2.5 hours, however the current systems do not provide that amount of runtime. So, is the requirement for 2000 amps for 2.5 hours to an end voltage of 1.75VDC (42VDC system)?
The batteries should be sized, as a minimum, for 2.5 hours Runtime at 2000 amps.
6) Also, to properly size the battery, what is the ambient room temperature where the systems are located?
Average room temperature is between 68 and 74 degrees Fahrenheit.
7) If no breakers currently installed, are they required to be procured and installed?
There are current disconnect breakers; however, the PWS requested new disconnects to be installed, which is the disconnect breaker.
8) Is there a freight elevator located at each site?
No. There is no elevator in the building.
9) Can customer receive shipment or is it the vendor’s responsibility? Is there a staging area?
The vendor will need to be onsite to receive the shipment and coordinate that in advance with the TPOC.
There is no staging area. The batteries will have to be delivered and moved inside the battery room.
10) Are there spare rectifiers to match the voltage of the new strings then connect to buss? This is needed if there are no breakers to isolate each string.
There is no spare rectifier. Only the one in use.
11) If there are spare rectifiers, what is the current rating of the rectifier?
See answer to question #10. There is no spare rectifier.
