Questions & Answers

(Revision 01 – 28 July 2020)

Question / Response

1.

Do the requested items need to be TAA compliant?

(Revised) The Government requires the requested items to be Trade Agreement Act (TAA) compliant. However, in instances where an available item meeting the required specifications is not TAA compliant and no TAA compliant item is available, the Offeror may offer a non-TAA compliant item, but must provide confirmation that no other TAA compliant item is available. The Contracting Officer reserves the right to waive the TAA requirement if doing so is determined to be in the best interest of the Government.

2.

Are “lightweight” notebooks or notebooks with 17.3” display required? In general, 14” or smaller displays are classified as “lightweight.”

The Government requires 50 each laptops/notebooks with a 17.3” display.

3.

If the Government needs actual lightweight notebooks, then what display size (12”, or 13.3” or 14”) is required?

Please see the Government’s response to question 2.

4.

The requirements for the 50 (each) laptops in section 01 call for 17" display and an overall weight of 6.81 lbs. w/ battery. The weight for 17" displays start at 7 lbs. w/ battery. What is the maximum weight that would be acceptable?

The Government requires the laptops/notebooks identified in section 01 to be as light as possible while still being in accordance with the specifications. The maximum weight of the offered laptop/notebook with the battery cannot exceed 13 lbs.
