Aberdeen Test Center Water Immersion Tank for Small Arms Weapon Systems Testing

Performance Work Statement

I. Background

The Small Arms Systems Field Branch (SASFB) of the Aberdeen Test Center (ATC) provides various environmental conditioning testing for the Department of the Army (DA).

This testing is crucial in the evaluation of a system’s performance, durability, and life cycle expectancy through potential operational conditions. Test items typically include a wide variety of small and medium caliber Army materiel, ranging from ammunition, weapon systems and related accessories.

As part of testing guidelines set forth by the Department of Defense (DOD), immersion in water testing is required for some small and medium caliber weapon systems equipment likely to be submerged in water at moderate depths. The SASFB has the need to have an immersion tank manufactured for this testing.

II. Work Scope

The Contractor shall manufacture and deliver a water immersion tank that meets the technical design and performance standards defined in this Performance Work Statement (PWS). The final product of this effort shall be delivered to ATC at APG, MD.
