Aberdeen Test Center On-Axis Parabolic Mirrors for Small Arms Weapon Systems Optics Testing

Performance Work Statement

I. Background

The Small Arms Systems Field Branch (SASFB) of the Aberdeen Test Center (ATC) provides various environmental conditioning testing for the Department of the Army (DA).

This testing is crucial in the evaluation of a system’s performance, durability, and life cycle expectancy through potential operational conditions. Test items typically include a wide variety of small and medium caliber Army materiel, ranging from ammunition, weapon systems and related accessories.

As part of testing guidelines set forth by the Department of Defense (DOD), high presicion testing of weapon system optics is required for some small and medium caliber weapon systems. The SASFB has the need to conduct such testing for these weapon systems.

II. Work Scope

The Contractor shall manufacture and deliver two On-Axis parabolic mirrors that meets or exceeds the technical design and performance standards defined in this Performance Work Statement (PWS). The final product of this effort shall be delivered to ATC at APG, MD.

III. Technical Specifications

IV. General Requirements

1. Equipment, components and materials produced by this effort shall be designed for a minimum 10-year life expectancy. All equipment replacement parts and components shall be readily available in the U.S. market; foreign manufactured major parts/components that are not ETL certified and UL listed, shall be identified in the final report.

2. CALIBRATION: N/A

3. Shipping terms are delivery-at-place (DAP) at ATC.

4. The Contractor shall supply an electronic copy of applicable manufacturing design drawing and testing and calibration documentation with a complete parts list.

5. The Contractor shall provide detailed recommendations for equipment and parts that requires periodic maintenance.

6. The required timeline and deliverable schedule is as follows:

a. On-Axis Parabolic Mirror (Section III.1 above) shall be delivered within 180 days after task order award.

b. Mirror Mounts (section III.2 above) shall be delivered within 180 days after task award.
