TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

High definition video telemetry power amplifiers

GENERAL: Aberdeen Test Center (ATC) is requesting the procurement of several high definition video telemetry power amplifiers. The existing high definition video telemetry system manufactured by VISLINK provides ATC with the means for real time remote viewing of high definition weapon & sight video cameras while systems such as the Abrams M1A2SEPv3, Bradley M2A4, STRYKER 30mm and ACV are being tested. This is for test safety purposes in addition to real time engineering assessments. The power amplifiers are required to enhance the existing systems by extending the useful operating range of the existing high definition video telemetry systems manufactured by VISLINK. The testing requirements of the aforementioned combat vehicle platforms are such that extended test ranges must sometimes be accommodated that exceed the current telemetry system’s operating range capability. These power amplifiers (1 watt and 5 watt nominal output) will augment the existing VISLINK high definition video telemetry equipment to minimize video telemetry dropouts from signal fade, destructive multipath and temporary blockages between transmitter and receiver when extended range distances between test item and receiving station occur.

The high definition video telemetry power amplifiers shall meet or exceed the following specifications.

1. Interoperate in close proximity with the existing VISLINK high definition video telemetry systems without any modifications whatsoever being required of the main units.

2. Capable of transmitting one high definition video or a pair of standard definition videos, interoperable with existing VISLINK equipment in use by ATC.

3. Utilize industry standard N type connectors for RF input and output.

4. Power amplifiers capable of operating from 10 – 28 volt dc power.

5. Power amplifiers shall provide a nominal output power of approximately 1 watt and 5 watts.

6. Power amplifiers shall operate over the frequency range of 4 to 5 GHz.

7. Power amplifiers must be able to operate in an outdoor environment.

8. Power amplifiers shall have adequate heat sink material attached to operate over the temperature range of -10 to +50 degrees Celsius.

All cabling to interconnect the system components shall be included, as required.

Manuals: Manuals/electronic storage devices containing operating and maintenance instructions and drawings/schematics will be provided, as required.

Warranty: A manufactures warranty covering all hardware and software for a minimum of one

(1) year from date of delivery shall be included.
