STATEMENT OF WORK
Q262A1 DMMP Gas Life Tester Rebuild
1. INTRODUCTION. The objective of this contract is to provide design, fabrication and system integration for the Q262A1 rebuild effort. This Statement of Work solicits the support contractor to provide the expertise, parts and labor to perform the tasks described herein.
2. BACKGROUND. The Edgewood Chemical Biological Center (ECBC) Test, Reliability & Evaluation Branch (TREB) operates specialized equipment used to test Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) filters for the Department of Defense (DOD) and the Department of Energy (DOE) as well as various commercial customers. The Q262A1 DMMP Gas Life Tester was originally designed to perform Dimethyl methylphosphonate (DMMP) gas life testing of filters with an airflow ranging from 100 – 2000 CFM. In order to accommodate the higher end of the flow range the system was built with large diameter tubing, which limited the stability at the lower end of the flow range. Through years of method development and lessons learned through continual process improvement it has been determined that the system shall be re-designed in order to provide the best possible test service to our customers. The full scope of design, fabrication and integration of the test system is beyond the capabilities of the TREB engineers and technicians that operate the equipment.
