PARAMEDIC TRAINING
1. Are the 36 attendees attending the class at one time or sporadically throughout the base year?
2. Will the training be conducted at the base or off-site at contractor's facility?
3. Are we using dummies or cadavers?
Those questions were transferred to the POC SGM Clark Hitchcock for a response on and cc’d Ms. Gillespie on 5/13/2024.
Our requirement is a Paramedic Program that uses an accredited academic institution who can teach and train both paramedics (EMT-P) and critical care paramedics (FP-C). I have pulled the exact verbiage from our PWS to provide additional detail/context:
1.4.2. The paramedic course shall be accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). The NREMT recognizes graduates of CAAHEP accredited programs as well as graduates of programs holding a CoAEMSP LoR, as eligible for the national Paramedic certification examinations. A list of programs is available:
http://www.caahep.org/Find-An-Accredited-Program/
2. Are the 36 attendees attending the class at one time or sporadically throughout the base year? They are spread throughout the year.
1.4.1 The contractor shall provide qualified personnel, services, materials, equipment, supplies and facilities necessary to conduct a fully accredited paramedic training program for no greater than 20 students per course selected by the 82nd Airborne Division for enrollment.
2. Will the training be conducted at the base or off-site at contractor's facility? The training is done at an off-site academic facility or at a local hospital/EMS service.
1.4.3. The contractor shall provide qualified personnel, facilities, services, materials, equipment and testing capability to conduct the didactic portion of the EMT-P and FP-C examination and shall facilitate the execution of the remainder of the exam to include the psychomotor testing and computer-based testing.
W91YTZ24Q0044
3. Are we using dummies or cadavers? The didactic phase uses medical simulation, and the clinical phase is live patients/in practice in the local community.
4.5.1 The contractor shall provide all medical equipment required to conduct training, testing and evaluation of student performance.
