Questions

1. Is it acceptable for a caterer to cook the meals in their facility and deliver they ready to serve to your facility?

A: Refer to the Solicitation location “Description of Items/ Services” paragraph one states, “BPA shall be prepared in the dining Facilities of the Armory’s located throughout the State of Illinois”. PWS Paragraph 1.4.1 states “Contractor shall prepare meals in the Armory’s located throughout the State”.

2. Do you know what the anticipated number of meals for each site is?

A: Some armories are single unit armories and request between 50 and 85 meals. Other locations are multi-unit readiness centers where units may or may not assemble on the same weekend in the month. Numbers at these locations will very from 80 to 300, could be more in some of the larger Chicago locations.

3. Do you know an approximate number of meals that will be served per date?

A: Due to additions/attrition at the unit level we are unable to provide an exact number of meals for each date. Therefore, we are establishing a BPA. The spreadsheet named “HC Summary FY18-FY21 only illustrates the historical meals of units and is not intended to be the exact number of meals.

4. Do we have to submit a quote for every location or only the locations we are able to service?

A: Refer to the Solicitation section; Purpose, paragraph 6. It states, “The requirement consists of establishing one BPA”. However, it is heavily suggested to utilize sub-contractors to provide meals for the entire state.
