About this file

This document contains questions and answers regarding laundry services for the Illinois Army National Guard's Central Issue Facility. The CIF is responsible for managing Organizational Clothing and Individual Equipment for the ILARNG and requires laundry services to clean some OCIE before reissuing it to soldiers. The questions and answers provide estimated volumes of various gear items requiring cleaning, including wool blankets, green bags, gray bags, poncho liners, and fleece jackets, totaling around 5,000 items. Historical data shows pickups have been for no more than 100 pieces per linen item or per pallet. For example, 100 poncho liners or 75 wool blankets per pallet. Multiple pallets of an item may be picked up in a week, such as two pallets of 75 wool blankets each for a total of 150 that week.

Questions for laundry

Q. Is there any way possible to get any documents that outline the volume of gear you need serviced?

A. These are current numbers of items that need serviced Wool Blanket: 1200 Green Bag: 850 Gray Bag: 800 Poncho Liner: 900 Fleece Jacket: 750

Q. I read through the contract and noticed that you said "historical data" shows that the pickups would be for no more than 100 pieces. In regards to this data, can you provide me with data for this service over the last 5 years? This would be a huge help on pricing this correctly. Thank you.

A. The totals included in the estimates are a “traditional” year of service that we anticipate for turn‐ins from the field. The data listed is over the last 5 years.

Q. Do you know if it is 100 total items picked up each week or 100 of each item picked up each week?

A. This is traditionally no more than 100 pieces per LIN item or per pallet. For example we send 100 poncho liners per pallet, 75 wool blankets, and 60 green sleeping bags at a time. There are instances where we would send out multiple pallets for a LIN item, such as 2 pallets of wool blankets totaling 150 for that week (2 pallets of 75 ea).
