Question-Answers for SSL Executive Mentor Coach

Which volume we should include the resumes?

Volume 2 How many resumes are required for submission?

1 resume per person Who is the “Customer?:”

-- COL Jim Starling (taking over the Data Literacy Course from Kathleen Moore).

I don't have recent experience with MCSs or the CPCE. I would need access to MCS and CPCE to be able to do the tasks required.

-We would work on access to required systems I would need to travel (especially in the beginning) for understanding commanders' use of MCS and CPCE and may need government support to provide the best product for the USAWC (access to the commands and staffs that they want the data literacy incorporated into).

-Travel/access to commands would be provided The base request (for the data literacy course(s) is very doable); the potential add-ons may not be able to be done with only one FTE. I would want clarity from you / the team on that. Looks like they added a lot of areas that may only be tangentially related to the Data Literacy Courses (if it is for the courses only; makes sense; looks pretty open, though). As the tasks go on and on, they get further and further from the objective stated. It looks more like an administrative assistant position than an instructor position. Again, if the intent is instruction and instructor-based tasks, I'm 100% interested. If it is 90% admin (for things other than the data literacy course(s)), then I'm not as interested.

-The intent is for assistant teacher/course material development (primary role), and part administrative support (secondary role). There are a lot of broader “open” tasks, as this course is in transition with new leadership. We would be interested in the contractor focus on “how I am going to help provide USAWC expertise on MCS/operational use of data.”

Additional thoughts on work focus: This position functions as the primary integrator of unit-level mission command systems (MCS) into U.S. Army War College (USAWC) data literacy warfighting courses. The contractor will develop expertise in the MCS used in Army tactical and operational command posts. These courses focus on increasing data literacy by senior Army leaders (Colonels and General Officers) by using real-world operational unit processes as the basis for the practical exercises. The contractor will work directly with tactical and operational units (Divisions, Corps, and Echelons above Corps) to capture their staff estimate and decision support tools and processes from the Command Post Computing Environment (CPCE). Working with the USAWC data literacy course directors, the incumbent will integrate the unit products into course lessons and curriculum and present this material during the various courses. This position also entails developing course materials and aids for classroom use and supporting classroom instruction to senior Army leaders. Develops training materials, lesson plans, training support packages (TSP), inserting operational unit situations into practical exercises, and including current Army-wide best practices into USAWC data literacy course. Keeps curriculum up to date with advancements in technology, processes, or doctrine. Performs administration tasks related to instruction, development, and travel. Coordinates with operational unit leaders and/or point of contacts (POC) for training, coordination, and data-collection

What is the budget for travel (in 8.3)? Is it for total or only for the 4 symposia (are those separated in the PWS?)? Will Government add Travel CLIN

- The travel budget will include symposia and travel to commands. There will be a travel CLIN. The contractor would be able to provide some input to which symposia/units to visit.

Is it 100% in person at USAWC (besides travel days)? What are Army (your?) expectations of work week (is this 5 days per week; 8 hours a day; or would we be able to be flexible here)? I can see myself needing to put in a bunch of hours in the beginning to get things started, potentially... there are a lot of extras that the Army "could" have the company do according to the task list...I want to get the mission done that the Army wants, but the right person should be doing the right jobs.

-Expectation for work week initially is 5 days per work as the course is being re-worked; then flexibility on in-person time. Flexibility on the task list—we too want to focus on the right areas. This position is critical to developing a course that uses actual unit data from across warfighting functions.

I saw your company has a training and education area of expertise...what would be my ability to tap into your instructional content and software to deliver products to the Army?

?????—not sure what “company” this is referencing
