AHEC MACRO ARTIFACTS QUESTIONS
SOLICITATION W91QF0-16-T-0013
AMENDMENT ONE
Q.1) Is the barrel of the 3" Anti-Tank Gun currently plugged? If not do you want it plugged after treatment?
A.1) Yes, the barrel is plugged.
Q.2) Is the interior of the barrel to be treated and painted?
A.2) No.
Q.3 Is the barrel of the German PAK 88mm plugged? If not, do you want it plugged after treatment?
A.3) Yes, the barrel is plugged.
Q.4) Is the interior of the barrel to be treated and painted?
A.4) No.
Q.5) For the reproduction of the Gatling Gun, do you require a repro of the entire gun or just the part protruding from the gun turret?
A.5) Just the part protruding, but it must be securely fixed so it cannot be removed.
Q.6) Has the paint on any of the objects been tested for lead?
A.6) No current tests have been done, however the 3” antitank gun and the German 88 were stripped and repainted in the last 10 years so they should be clear of lead. The Cobra and 105’s have the original Army Paint and have not been tested.
Q.7) Has there been a paint adhesion test performed on any of the artifacts?
A.7) No.
Q.8) Is there a condition assessment report for each artifact and if so, would it be possible to obtain a copy of the report?
A.8) No reports available.
Q.9) For the paint systems specified, would you accept alternative systems if equivalent to those specified?
A.9) Yes.
Q.10) Could you provide an estimated distance to water and power sources on site near to each artifact?
A.10) 3” Antitank gun is 25-50’ from power. German 88 100 Yds. The 105’s approximately 200 – 300 Yds., and Cobra approximately 500 Yds., So essentially other than the 3” Antitank gun, there is no power nearby. Water source approximately 550 yards
Q.11) Would it be possible to extend the 90 day period post award for the treatment of the artifacts?
The reason for this is due to the weather; this will be approaching and within the winter period when outdoor work will be more difficult and repainting requires quite stringent conditions for application (temp and relative humidity).
A.11) Extensions will be considered on a case by case basis.
