About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document from a federal contract solicitation regarding image intensifier products. A prospective offeror inquired whether the draft solicitation's requirement for a three-year Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) warranty could be satisfied using standard OEM no-cost warranty terms, which typically provide twenty-four months of coverage for image intensifier products, or whether extended coverage should be priced separately. The offeror also requested that the final solicitation explicitly state the quote validity period and delivery schedule format to enable offers to be structured accordingly.
The Government's response clarifies that the OEM no-cost standard warranty satisfies the warranty requirement, with coverage commencing upon shipment of items. Offerors are instructed to provide quotes valid for 120 days. The response does not address the requested clarification regarding delivery schedule format in the final solicitation document.

Q. The draft requires a three year OEM warranty; standard OEM warranty on image intensifier products commonly runs twenty four months, so we ask the Government to confirm whether standard OEM warranty terms satisfy the requirement or whether offerors should price extended coverage. And we ask that the final solicitation state the quote validity period and delivery schedule format expressly, so offers can be structured to match.
A. The OEM no-cost standard warranty satisfies the requirement. Warranty begins when the items are shipped. Please provide a quote that is valid for 120 days. Thank you
