“Questions from Industry”
Question 1: CLIN 0001: PELTOR COMTAC III ACH Tactical Communication Headset Headband Kits.
There are about 11 variations of this kit and we want to make sure we quote the correct one.
Does the Government have the NSN # for the model being requested?
The part number provided does not seem to bring anything up on our end.
Answer 1: No NSN. Any PELTOR COMTAC III ACH DUAL COMM KIT that meets the specifications: PELTOR COMTAC III ACH DUAL COMM KIT. Includes gel cushions, PTT adapter, camo bag and batteries- coyote brown, Dual COMM.
Level-dependent surround sound for "talk-thru" function. Ambidextrous noise-canceling boom microphone. Compatible with ACH, MICH Helmets.
Question 2: The title of the Solicitation and CLIN 0001 state the requirement is for a DUAL Comtac Kit. However, Section 3.0.1.1 in the Statement of Work (SOW) references Appendix A, which is found on page 6. Appendix A also lists DUAL COMM Kit but lists in the components “Single COMM”. Are you indeed seeking a DUAL COMM device or a Single COMM Device?
Answer 2: The Statement of Work (SOW) has been updated with accurate information which is in the solicitation.
Question 3: The Peltor COMTAC III has been discontinued by the manufacturer. We would be quoting a later generation product (COMTAC V). Please let me know if this is acceptable or you are seeking something else.
Answer 3: The validity of the COMTAC V Headset -- it is a suitable replacement for the COMTAC III and is an acceptable substitute
