About this file
This is a Purchase Description document for Air National Guard T-Tap Adaptors (26-A5-003). The Air National Guard requires 518 PACE T-Tap Adaptors, model PFG-PACE-1003T, to be delivered to 14 geographically dispersed Air National Guard units across the United States. These small adapters integrate with the Passive Attenuation Communications Earphone (PACE) System to provide multi-platform communication for 3D Audio Helmets while maintaining passive hearing protection. The adapters enable pilots to use spatially-separated audio across different aircraft platforms without major rewiring or equipment replacement, thereby reducing logistics costs.
The adapters must meet specific technical requirements including integration with PACE with or without Terma 3D Audio earphones, achievement of required audio quality in aircraft not equipped with the 3D Audio System, compatibility with various helmet and aircraft communication systems, constant communication signal capability with left and right channel support, physical dimensions not exceeding 1¾ inches width by 1 inch depth by 2 inches length, and approval by the ANG/AFRC Test Center at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona. Delivery locations span from JB Andrews, Maryland to McEntire Joint Base, South Carolina, with individual unit quantities ranging from 10 to 52 adapters per location.
