About this file
This document is a Question and Answer (Q&A) document related to a federal contract opportunity for the brand name Emesent Hovermap ST handheld mapping sensor. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) has a requirement for this system, which includes a lidar sensor, 360-degree camera, and other accessories. The agency is seeking a small business vendor to provide the complete Hovermap ST kit, 360-degree camera kit, and a magnetic vehicle mount. Offerors must submit quotes by September 9, 2024 addressing the detailed technical specifications provided, and the award will be made to the lowest price technically acceptable offer. The Q&A document clarifies some minor errors in the initial requirements document and removes a specification related to autonomous UAS mapping.

Question and Answer Document
The following questions and answers are provided for informational purposes only:
Question 1 - In Table 6 labeled “Other Specifications”, the following specification is stated: “ Autonomous SLAM based LiDAR Mapping of drone-based platform without integration from the user.“
This requirement is associated with a more expensive version of the Hovermap ST system.
Could you confer with the technical experts at GRL and determine if they intended to include this higher performance (and more expensive) capability in the set of requirements?
Answer: Please reference updated DOR, Table 6, Other Specifications, in which the “Autonomous UAS mapping” specification has been removed.
Question 2 - In addition to the previous request for clarification, I wanted to point out that we encountered a couple of errors in the description of the products that are being sought.
1. On the DOR document, first page, Table 1. The name Emesent is misspelled as “Eemesent”
2. Under “BIDDING SCHEDULE”, in the second line of the table, second cell, Hovermap is misspelled as “Hoovermap”
Answer: Misspellings have been corrected. Pease reference the updated DOR and Bidding Schedule.
