Question and Answer
Q: On average, how many peptides do you need to synthesize per week?
A: 1
Q: What would be the average length of the peptides which you are planning to synthesize?
A: 5 - 20 amino acids
Q: Do you need a synthesizer with One- or Two- or Four- solid phase reactors system?
A: 2 channels
Q: I understand that the scale of synthesized products must be ≥0.1 mmol. Please confirm.
A: This range sounds correct from what I put in. I don't think we need micro/nanomoles of peptide, but larger amounts seem reasonable
Q: Generally speaking, if you are planning to do a fast peptide synthesis (with about 15min reaction cycles), it means that you need to use our heating reactors system which is absolutely a perfect choice, however, it would not be common to use a UV-monitoring system while you are running a fast heating peptide synthesis. I can add a UV-monitoring system to your synthesizer, however, I am not sure if you would use it as long as you are planning to do all the time fast peptide syntheses.
A: Yes we want UV monitoring
Q: What do you mean by “Must have automated waste handling capabilities”?
A: Waste products from either 1) each step of synthesis, or 2) the entire synthesis itself (assuming compatible waste products), are automatically pumped into a waste jerrican/receptical. Meaning that from clicking "start" to ending the run, there is no need for a person to be there to check that waste is being properly handled. All a person would need to do is properly label the waste receptacle and dispose of it accordingly. This is practically universal for peptide synthesizers.
Q: What is the physical address for the instrument delivery?
A: 2902 Newmark Drive, Champaign, IL 61826-9005
Q: Can you please advise if the synthesizer with parallel synthesis should be included on the RFQ or should the unit just have the capability to do so?
A: The peptide synthesizer must be capable of parallel and/or sequential synthesis.
