SUMMARY OF CHANGES

SECTION SF 30 - BLOCK 14 CONTINUATION PAGE

The following have been added by full text:

REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

Question 1: Snow will be removed from the designated areas shown on Exhibits A and B. By “Removed” do you mean plowed into banks or physically removed via trucking?

Answer: The snow does not need to be removed via trucking. Clearing the snow to the outskirts of the parking lot/driveway in the exhibits is acceptable.

Question 2: This contract is to serve as a supplement to government operations outside of normal working hours.

Precipitation sufficient for plowing (only) occurring between 7 AM- 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday (excluding Federal Holidays), will be taken care of by project staff, unless contractor is notified by the Technical Point of Contact or his/her designee. I just want to clarify. Is the expectation to clear the lot prior to working hours M-F at 7 AM and have the site employees take care of additional snowfall during working hours? I want to make sure I price this out correctly. If I quote assuming we are only supplementing governmental operations what happens when we get called to plow during normal business hours?

Answer: Yes the lots should be cleared prior to 7am on M-F for employees to access the areas. Employees typically manage the snow during business hours. If the contractor is called during business hours, the contractor would bill as if it was outside of business hours.

Question 3: Sand/Salt mix (for plowed areas). Note . Mixture will have a minimum salt content of 20% We use straight rock salt or a treated salt product containing magnesium chloride. Sand offers no measurable benefit and instead makes a mess.

Answer: Several of the parking lots are in heavily shaded areas and in some instances sand is used to have an immediate effect for traction purposes. We are aware of the clean up after sand is applied to areas, however, the mixture required is sand/salt.

Question 4: Equipment must be available and sized to remove multiple storm accumulated snow from roadway edges and parking lot edges and place beyond guard rails, posts, bumpers so that parking and vehicle operation is not lost due to accumulated snow. We provide removal and/or push back services hourly in addition to plowing. We have the equipment available for such services however we do not include this in our “per event” contracts. If this is expected to be performed “per event” after every visit I need to know so I can include it in the one line item.

Answer: The Contractor is required to have large enough equipment (plows) to handle pushing back snow banks in the exhibited areas. Employees take care of removing accumulated snow in areas where snow takes up too much space. The Contractor is not expected to remove large accumulated snow banks in the parking lots.
