SECTION SF 30 - BLOCK 14 CONTINUATION PAGE
The following have been added by full text:
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
1. QUESTION: Can work occur 12 hours per day to increase production per day?
1. ANSWER: Yes with coordination with the TPOC.
2. QUESTION: Can work occur 7 days per week during the excavation window?
2. ANSWER: As noted in the schedule. The contractor must complete excavation activities five
(5) days after drawdown.
3. QUESTION: Where is the staging area for construction equipment? We need to know this if we need to put gravel from there to the work site as specified on Page 12.
3. ANSWER: As stated in bullet #8: Storage Area. “The storage area for use by the Contractor, for work and storage of equipment, materials, and trailers during the life of this contract will be determined at the Preconstruction Conference.” It is up to the contractors discretion on how much gravel they would want to use if any in the transition/storage areas. A few attachments to show potential storage areas are included in this amendment.
4. QUESTION: When is the estimated lake draw down to occur so we can plan accordingly if this is a summer or winter project?
4. ANSWER: This will be a summer project depending on the weather conditions and dry periods.
5. QUESTION: Can the material be temporarily staged in the parking lot prior to hauling to the dump area?
5. ANSWER: No, material will be loaded into trucks and hauled to the dump site.
6. QUESTION: The specs say that 2 days will be given for advance notice of excavation operations. Can this be increased to one week? It will be difficult to coordinate equipment and people within 2 days unless a heads up is given prior to the 2 days.
6. ANSWER: This project has to be done in a 5 day window. Often times the weather stations provide most accurate forecasts within a few days before the week ahead. Once the contract is awarded the TPOC and the contractor will be in communications constantly to allow for mobilization.
7. QUESTION: Can more legible plan drawings be provided as the one provided is unable to be read for important projection such as elevations and contours?
7. ANSWER: Drawings in the solicitation are the only ones on file. We recommend scheduling a site visit.
8. QUESTION: Can the 3” of clean sand for restoration of the swimming beach area be obtained from materials on site or is this to be brought in by truckload?
W912WJ21Q0100
8. ANSWER: It shall be clean beach sand. Not found onsite.
9. QUESTION: Can you provide information on what type of soils are to be dredged? Do you have any borings?
9. ANSWER: Silt, sand, gravel and organic material. There are no borings available.
