PART 1 GENERAL
This specification addresses all concrete and concrete material requirements for this contract. This includes, but is not limited to, references, submittals, qualtiy control personnel, preconstruction testing and approvals, mixture proportioning. trial batching, batch plant requirements for testing, operation, etc. Where conflicts between specifications arise, this specification governs for all concrete related items.
All materials stored and permanent concrete produced at the batch plant shall meet the material requirements contained herein. During periods where permanent concrte is not being produced, temporary concrete, or concrete for other projects, may be batched, but any temporary materials or materials for other projects must be fully separated, contained, and fully removed from plant machinary/hoppers prior to production of perament concrete. All other provisions of this specification apply unless otherwise noted.

1.1 UNIT OF MEASURE
1.1.1 I-Wall Concrete Liner
This includes all structural concrete (Stuctural Concrete Mix #1), all miscellaneous and concrete, and all incidental items associated with construction and finishing of I-Walls and overtopping splash pad.
1.1.1.1 Payment
All incidental costs associated with the performance of work in this section are included in the contract price designated for I-Walls. Payment will be made to include all labor, equipment, materials, and supplies for completing the general structural concrete as shown on the contract drawings and as specified. These costs include all costs associated with furnishing and delivery of concrete and concrete materials including but not limited to Portland cement, fly ash, ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS), mineral and chemical admixtures, aggregates and water. This also includes but is not limited to costs associated with concrete production and placement including mixing, transportation, conveying, placement, reinforcing steel, water stops, formwork, miscellaneous metals, consolidating, finishing, curing, joint sealants, and other incidental costs required to place the concrete to the lines and grades required. The unit cost for each constituent component required for the concrete mix shall be submitted as part of the mix design process to establish the basis of cost adjustments should percentages require adjustment by the Government. No payment will be made for concrete wasted or not otherwise placed during production. No separate compensation associated with concrete materials testing, as part of the Contractor's Quality Control, SECTION 03 30 00 Page 259 will be made and these costs shall be incidental to concrete construction.
1.1.1.2 Measurement
Concrete will be measured for payment based upon the actual linear feet of I-Wall concrete liner placed to include the overtopping splash pad. Pay lines will be taken as the starting and stopping station of each I-Wall segment. No deductions will be made for rounded or beveled edges, space occupied by metal work, electrical conduits, or reinforcing steel, nor for voids or embedded items that are either less than 5 cubic feet in volumn or 1 square foot in cross section. Concrete will be measured from the I-Wall starting station to I-Wall segment ending station along the centerline of the I-Wall alignment to the nearest half linear foot.
1.1.1.3 Unit of Measure
Unit of Measure: Linear Feet
1.1.2 Gatewell
This includes all structural concrete (Stuctural Concrete Mix #1), all miscellaneousand concrete, and all incidental items associated with construction and finishing of Gatewells.
