GVT RESPONSES TO QUESTIONS
Governments Responses to Questions ref Solicitation W912QG24Q0027, Ice & Refrigerated Trailer.
In accordance with paragraph 13, Request for Additional Information of the solicitation stated “All request for additional information beyond that contained within this solicitation shall be emailed to the designated POC NLT 15 May 2024, 1000hrs (ET). All questions received shall be consolidated and posted with Governments responses for all to see as an amendment to the solicitation. Questions received by phone will not be accepted”. The Government responses are below. The window for submitting (RFI’s) is closed.
Q. Does the ice need to be preloaded or will these be two separate deliveries and base personnel load ice into reefer?
A. Preferably the ice needs to be pre-loaded. There is no set preference for the size or type of trailer.
If it is better for you to make two deliveries or swap out trailers that is fine, just include it in your bid. The unit will take care of powering the generator.
Q. I want to confirm there are 4,608 bags needed and not 2,400 A. The correct number is 4608 bags.
Q. Given the volume of ice required, would it be acceptable to utilize two trailers to accommodate its storage needs? It appears that this arrangement may be necessary to adequately contain the ice.
A. Yes, it is possible. Although it would be best to have one trailer at a time and swap them off halfway through the training. Simply include the swap in the bid.
Q. So in that case would it be best to provide half of the ice for the first period of the training and bring the addition the second half so the storage room isn't taken up by the trailer ?
4,806 equates to 36 pallets. There are 128 bags on a pallet. 1 trailer that would be 2560 bags / 20 pallets. Then we would bring the additional ice half way through the training or correspond with the POC of when to bring it. -- let me know your thoughts ?
A. Correct.
Q. Regrettably, Our subcontractor currently does not stock 16lb ice bags in our inventory. However, I'm pleased to inform you that we do have 20lb ice bags available that may suit your requirements just as well.
Additionally, regarding the Refrigerator , will there be a power outlet on site to plug in the trailers ?
Please let us know if you would consider the 20lb ice bags.
A. The unit says 20 lbs. are fine as long as they mee the same total poundage. The refrigerator will be placed in a location where they will have access to power.
Q. We are working on the solicitation W912QG24Q0027 for delivery of ice and a trailer to FT Stewart, GA. We were hoping to get clarity regarding the exact quantity of ICE that is required.
Item 1 on page 3 mentions 4608 and page 47 mentions 2400.
We require the exact number so that we are able to make a good estimation of the size of trailer that is required. At present it appears the solicitation requires a for 53 Foot Trailer.
Considering the size of trailer required to hold all the ice, we would also like to know if a hybrid electric with back diesel trailer would be an acceptable option.
A. The amount is 4608 bags of ice. The 2400 is just a typo. When it comes to the trailer, the unit will have both electric hookup and the ability to refuel them with diesel. However, swapping out trailers halfway through is also an option. Whatever provides the lowest cost.
Q. Are you running 3-phase power? If not, what power and voltage are you running?
A. The unit has access to 110 volt receptacle. They also have access to diesel for generator driver refrigerated trailers.
Q. Below is what we would require. Are you able to find this kind of power anywhere?
3-phase, 480v, 30amp (ideal)
W912QG24Q0027
3-phase, 220v, 60amp Single-phase, 220v, 60 amp A, The unit only has access to 110volts or diesel for generator to keep trailer cold.
