1. Please reference the Statement of Work document, page 4, section 1.3 Installation, item e:

Statement of work requires (14) multimode fiber optic cables be installed to telecom outlets. Please clarify which outlets are to receive the fiber optic cables.

A. Request drop schedule and edited drawings from the Contracting Officer.

2. Please reference the Statement of Work document, page 4, section 1.3 Installation, item b:

Statement of work requires (7) RG-6 cables at TV locations, plan E4.1 shows (8) TV locations. Please confirm which quantity is correct.

A. Drawing is correct, 8 RG-6 runs.

3. Please reference plans E0.1 and plan E4.1: The half-shaded triangle with designator “e” states that it is an existing outlet, are any new cables required at these locations? Please confirm.

A. Existing cables are to remain. No new cable runs in the existing locations.

4. Are there already coaxial cables in place that need to be terminated/tested?

A. Testing existing coax cables is not in the scope of this project.

5. How many total coaxial cables need to be pulled? 7 or 8? I see 8 total on the prints.

A. Drawing is correct, 8 coax cables.

6. Are there already face plates for the coaxial drops? or, Are we to provide the coaxial face plates?

A. Vendor shall provide coax faceplates. See drop schedule for faceplate configuration, coax drops have 2 CAT-6 and 1 RG-6

7. How many strands of fiber will be going to the 14 drops?

A. Fiber drops per attached drop schedule will have 1 MM duplex cable and 3CAT-6. APC connectors will not be used on Multi-mode fiber.

8. Where are the 14 fiber drops landing on the prints?

A. Request drop schedule and edited drawings from the Contracting Officer.

9. Is there room in the FODP in room 41, for all the new fiber strands to be terminated and patched in?

If not, are we to provide a new FODP? If so, Are we to provide new LC/OM3 bulkhead adapters for the panel? Fiber Patch Cables - I am guessing OM3/LC duplex patch cables.

A. There is room in the current FODP. Bulk heads will be required.

10. What length and type of fiber patch cables will we need to provide? Are they for the user stations, or room 41? or both?

A. Provide 14 - 5’ OM3 patch cords. The patch cords will be used as cross connects in room 41.

11. How many fiber patch cables will we need to provide? Will we need to provide 25% spare patch cables?

A. See answer 10.

12. Is there room in an existing Cat6 patch panel in room 41, for the remaining 12-Cat6 cables to be terminated?

A. Yes.

13. What is the distance from room 41, Cat6 patch panel to the longest drop in the C1 print? What is the distance from room 41, Cat6 patch panel to the longest drop in the B3 print?

A. The longest runs are approximately 65' in the C1 print and 150' in the B3 print. These distances are estimated based on test results from nearby existing drops.

14. How many Cat6 cables are to be pulled per drop? Which locations gets 2 or 3 or 4?

A. Request drop schedule and edited drawings from the Contracting Officer.

15. How many Cat6 patch cables, and what lengths will we need to provide? Are they for the user stations, or room 41? or both?

A. 25 - 3' and 25 - 5' CAT-6 patch cords to be used as cross connects in room 41.

16. How many cat6 cables per? How many fibers per? and, to what locations?

A. Request drop schedule and edited drawings from the Contracting Officer.

17. Are the 7 or 8 coaxial face plates included in this number?

A. Yes. However the total number should be 36. 34 will have combination of CAT-6, RG-6, and Fiber per drop schedule. 2 will be VGA only.

18. Do all cable drops, coaxial drops, and the VGA drop, all have a 1-inch conduit running from the drop location on the prints, to the cable tray in the hallways?

A. All new drops will have new 1" conduits with pull string to cable tray. The conduits will not have existing cabling.

19. Is there pull string in all 1-inch conduits? Are all the 1-inch conduits open, or do the have existing cables in any?

A. See answer 18.

20. Is the VGA cable being used for a computer monitor? Is there a face plate for this cable, or will we need to provide a faceplate? What is the length of this cable, from room 41 to office 33?

A. VGA will simply run up the wall approximately 6' and there connect to a monitor. Faceplate will need to be provided as part of the SOW.

21. Is this project to be warranted for 3 years or 1 year?

A. Per new internal policy, warranty shall be 1 year.

22. How many cables per drop for each symbol as shown on plans? E0.1 does not specify Qty’s for each location.

A. Request drop schedule and edited drawings from the Contracting Officer.

23. Are we bidding per SOW or drawings? SOW states 7 RG-6 runs while drawings show 8 locations. I know it says “but not limited too” but I want to clarify for accuracy.

A. Drawings are correct. SOW should reflect 8 RG-6 drops.

24. SOW states “Leviton Preferred” is this what is already existing in the building?

A. In an effort is to provide like components in every building is underway and being handled during renovations. Leviton is the brand most consistently found in our EN's.

25. Are all conduits continuous to cable tray?

A. All conduits are continuous to cable tray.

26. What Brand is the Existing ISP Fiber Optic Distribution Panel?

A. The ISP FODP is Leviton brand.

27. The only areas we are dealing with are those highlighted on the plan: A1, C1, B3, B4. Is this correct?

A. New drops will only be installed in the areas covered by A1/C1 and B3/B4. The Comm Room we are connecting to is Room 41.

28. Fiber Optic Horizontal Cable and Connections – No fiber locations are shown on the prints provided.

Please clarify.

A. Request drop schedule and edited drawings from the Contracting Officer.

29. Copper Horizontal Cable and Connections – Confirm if cable being installed is to be Plenum or Riser Rated.

A. The HVAC is ducted return. Plenum rated cable is not required.

30. Please confirm copper terminations are to be T568A configuration. (SOW indicates 568A but UFC 3- --580 says T568B jack pin/pair configuration may only be used if required to maintain uniformity in an existing facility) A. Use T568A.

31. Faceplates. We are confused by the counts listed in this section. Based on the prints provided our counts are 38---Phone/Data Outlets, 1---VGA Video Outlet and 8---TV Outlets. Please confirm how many Cat6, VGA and Coax and the configurations to each outlet location.

A. Drop schedule shall define faceplate requirements. There is a typo in the SOW. Correct number of faceplates is 36 (34 traditional drops with fiber/CAT-6/RG-6 and 2 VGA only).

32. Copper Patch Cords. Please confirm desired lengths.

A. 25 - 3' 25 - 5'

33. 1. 1.3a Mentions a telecommunications backboard. Will this be installed by us, and if so, how many are desired.

A. Backboard already installed.

34. 2. 1.3 a and b. 1.3a calls for a coax splitter and 1.3b calls for a coax patch panel. We assume you want the coax terminated to the splitter. Please clarify.

A. Correct. RG-6 will be terminated at Coax Splitter.

35. 3. 1.3c and d. 1.3c calls for 2---data Leviton 48 port patch panels in 2 post rack. 1.3d says to terminate 108 Cat---6 cables at 48 port data patch panels. If there are 108 cables, a third patch panel would be needed. Please clarify

A. There is a patch panel currently installed that is not fully utilized. The 12 extra connections will be terminated in this patch panel.

36. 1.3c and d. These sections mention 2 post racks located in room 41. Are we to provide and how many racks are required?
