1. Question:
1. On page 8 of 53 line 3.2 Permits; is the government requiring us to obtain a civilian or state demolition permit?
Answers:
1. No civilian or state demo permit is required.
2. Question:
1. How are the floating structures held/secured in place?
2. Are the structures sitting on any wooden or concrete pilings?
3. If so, is the winning contractor required to remove them completely, or cut them off at the bottom off the lake?
Answer:
1. The floating structures are secured by anchors and cables.
2. The Contractor will need to cut the cables and only remove the docks, walkways and structures that are floating. Any concrete anchors and the cables attached to them may remain in place.
3. Removal of any concrete or wooden pilings is not required.
3. Question:
1. Is there a map that identifies the buildings and appurtenant structures more specifically?
2. Can you more clearly define the term “salvage”? For instance, are we just salvaging the demolition debris to the client (you)? Or are we disassembling all structures in a manner to be reconstructed elsewhere?
3. In either of the previous instances of salvage, are the materials to be bundled or secured in any manner or simply stacked or piled, etc?
4. To where will all salvaged materials be moved? (a location designated on a map would be great)
5. Regarding items not designated for salvage (such as concrete), will these items be stockpiled on the property or are they to be removed and disposed of offsite?
Answer:
1. We do not have a map. We suggest visiting the site or we can provide pictures on request.
Additionally the site can be viewed using the provided address and programs such as "Google Earth".
2. "Salvage" for this action means for the Contractor to remove the materials from Government property and salvage it, sell it, or dispose of it lawfully or as he deems appropriate.
3. The Contractor will need to bundle or secure the materials for safe transporting off Government property. No onsite bundling or stacking is required.
4. We have no onsite dump designation for any materials except concrete and reinforcing. All other materials shall be transported off Government property. A Government site in close proximity to the work area will be available for the dumping of concrete and reinforcing only. That exact location is yet to be determined.
5. See item (4)
