About this file

This Single Source Justification document from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Wilmington District details a procurement for (12) CUMMINS Injectors (Part# 2882077PX) for the USACE dredge "Murden". The procurement is a new requirement with firm-fixed pricing, being solicited as a small business set-aside under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). The justification highlights that the Cummins parts are proprietary, unique to the QSK-19-M engines onboard the dredge, and critical to avoid potential lost revenue if the injectors prematurely fail. While there are multiple Cummins distributors, the procurement emphasizes the need for exact form, fit, and function of the specific brand name components, with the contract to be competed among qualified small businesses.
