About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document from a site visit for Solicitation W912PM25Q0006 regarding boundary line maintenance at Jordan Lake. The document contains four questions and responses addressing: 1) tree scraping requirements before painting, clarifying that only certain species with deeply furrowed bark require scraping, 2) equipment storage permissions at the USACE Visitor Assistance Center, 3) mileage details for boundary line sections across the base year and option years (ranging from approximately 2-7 miles per subsection), and 4) confirmation that work will be completed as one job per year over several months.
The document is formatted as a simple table dated January 6, 2025, with space for up to 14 questions, though only the first 4 entries are completed. The responses provide specific technical and logistical details relevant to contractors preparing quotes for the boundary line maintenance work at Jordan Lake.

Question # Question Response
Does every tree with paint need to be scraped prior to new paint being applied?
Not necessarily. Specific tree species with deeply furrowed, loose or flaky bark like Loblolly pine, Shagbark hickory, and White Oak will need to be scraped due to their bark characteristics, but other tree species with smooth or lightly furrowed bark generally hold on to paint for much longer and scraping may not be needed.
2 Can we store equipment on USACE property?
Yes, the contractor may store items and/or equipment in a secured compound adjacent to our Visitor Assistance
Center.
What is the mileage on each map?
There are 12 sub-section maps for the base year so the average length of each sub-section map is ~4.25 miles. Range is from 2.73 miles to 7.28 miles. There are 15 sub-section maps for OY1 at Jordan Lake so the average length of each sub-section map is ~3.5 miles. Range is from 1.85 miles to 7.56 miles. There are 13 sub-section maps for OY2 at
Jordan Lake so the average length of each sub-section map is ~4 miles. Range is from 2.14 miles to 6.49 miles.
It will be one job per year with a few momths to complete the scope of work? Yes, that is correct.
