Questions and Answers September 3, 2021
Question 3 added September 9, 2021
Question 1: The Statement of Work indicates the availability of six (6) attachments with more details of the bridges in need of inspection, are you able to supply them?
Answer 1: The attachments were inadvertently left off the solicitation and will be uploaded once confirmed. Upload to SAM.gov forthcoming.
Question 2: The solicitation references an attached pricing sheet but there doesn’t appear to be a separate attachment. Can you please clarify?
Answer 2: The line items within the solicitation shall be used to provide pricing for all locations. No attachment is needed or will be uploaded separately.
Question 3: I reviewed the attachments submitted yesterday showing the information for the bridges for the bid. I had a follow up question based on the attachment. What is the total distance both down and underneath you would need inspected for each of these bridges? This information is pertinent to providing the correct machine for the job. Thank you for your assistance and I look forward to your response.
Answer 3: For the five vehicle bridges the inspection will need the inspection truck bucket to access the underside of the superstructure to inspect the bottom of the girders and beams, as well as the bearings on the abutments and pile caps.
For the three railroad-trestle bridges the inspection truck bucket will need to inspect the underside of the superstructure, as well as the piles of the pile bents. The distance below the top of tracks will be approximately 30 feet.
