SECTION 1
Interior Design Narrative
The SOF Telecommunications Reliability Facility project for the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers is located in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina and includes a complete comprehensive interior design package with all new furnishings to be located in Office 101.
The FF&E will include at one side of the room a one-entry point, freestanding two-person workstation unit with (1) mobile Box/File and (1) storage tower with lockable, closed doors and open shelves. In addition, each person will have a sit/stand height adjustable worksurface and a table that can be used for collaborating or as an additional height adustable work surface. Chairs will be adjustable as well to accomodate a sit/stand position. Storage towers will be in place of overheads to allow for the work surfaces to move freely.
On the other side of the room will be a height adjustable workbench unit with casters wrapping around the space on 3 sides with one entry point. The two sides (at the walls) will be made up of (4) 60"x30" work surfaces with open shelves, task lights and a grounded built- in power strip along with (2) lockable pedestals attached . The two benches facing front nearest to the doors will be 48" x 30" to allow space for a tool cabinet. The 48" wide benches will also be height adjustable with casters, no shelf or task light. Furnishings will be metal components with non-conductive work surfaces selected from a manufacturer's standard line.
Alternate #1 provides all products on GSA contract accept the tool cabinet. The high cost items are on GSA contract and also provide a maximum worksurface with curved up/down options verses other up/down worksurfaces that are available only in rectangle shape. Items for Alternate #1 grouping have a limited lifetime guaranty and can also be purchased from one dealer with one purchase order.
All furnishings selected shall be selected based on FAR 8.4 requirements with sustainable characteristics from environmentally friendly manufacturers.

Other Credit Contributions
Although not specific to this product, Steelcase has other corporate wide programs that can help support certain
LEED credits. For example, many of our products can be blanket shipped, or shipped using recyclable packaging materials. Both options help support Materials & Resources credits targeted to prevent construction waste from being sent to a landfill.
Incorporation of user controlled task lighting and occupancy sensor products in systems furniture installations can contribute to reducing ambient light requirements and energy load. These contributions may be applicable to Energy
& Atmosphere credits.
Also, both product longevity and the Steelcase Phase 2 Program for end of life reuse/recycling support Materials &
Resources credits for Material Reuse, Furniture & Furnishing Reuse, or Source Reduction & Waste Management.

Think can contribute to a project’s pursuit of LEED Certification across the three rating systems:
• LEED-ID+C - Interior Design & Construction
• LEED-BD+C - Building Design & Construction
• LEED-O+M - Operations & Maintenance
*For Potential Contribution: These are the probable contributions; exact contributions will be dependent on the LEED rating system and the specific product.
