# Questions Answers
“The Target shall be capable of moving at a minimum speed of 3 kilometers per hour.” Could you please clarify whether there is a typo (meant to be 13 kilometers per hour?). 3km/h is about half of human walking pace.
This is not a typo. The minimum acceptable speed is 3 kilometers per hour. Faster speeds are acceptable, but quotes with speeds faster than 3 kilometers per hour will not be viewed more favorably than quotes that meet the miniumum speed of 3 kilometers per hour.
The second sentence is "Additionally, the targetry shall [be] capable of autonomously exposing limited target around cover / concealment". Does this mean that the target should be able to do this by leaning forward without chassis movement?
The Government requirement in PWS 5.2.1.7 states: “The targetry shall be realistic, and three-dimensional, and capable of receiving hits from any direction. Additionally, the targetry shall [be] capable of autonomously exposing limited target around cover / concealment.” Leaning forward without chassis movement is an acceptable way of meeting this requirement, but not the only way. The target could also accomplish this by moving forwards and backwards as a single, erect unit.
The second sentence is “The targets shall have instant target visual feedback (stopping movement, dropping flat, reducing speed, flinching, etc.)”. Does PWS 5.2.1.5 mean that the targets should be able to do all of those things (stopping movement, dropping flat, reducing speed, and flinching)?
No, stopping movement, dropping flat, reducing speed and flinching are examples of the type of visual feedback that would be acceptable for this requirement. Please note PWS 5.2.1.5 has been updated to state: “The Targetry shall be capable of providing visual effects. The targets shall have provide instant target visual feedback to the firer (for example, stopping movement, dropping flat, reducing speed, flinching, etc.). The targets shall be configurable to provide the visual effects after sustaining single or multiple hits. Adjacent targets shall be programmable to react in synchronization with other targets.” (Sections highlighted yellow have been added).”
