Questions from Industry
1. Will the government provide a service manual and service plan for each piece of equipment?
a. Yes, if/when service manuals are available. The contractor will make their own service plans monthly against required work load. See 1.11 Contractor Travel below.
2. What if the service manual says service should be done monthly and the contact says once a quarter?
a. According to the PWS, the contractor is allowed 5 trips a quarter to each location (10).
This means the contractor can make at least one trip to each location for monthly services.
3. What if service on a COR call will take place more than 2 times per quarter per location?
a. 1.11 Contractor Travel: The contractor shall factor cost of travel for five (5) trips per site per quarter into the cost of the services. The number of trips included covers one (1) quarterly preventative maintenance check, two (2) unscheduled quarterly checks, and two
(2) repair trips. Unscheduled checks: In response to the COR reporting equipment failure the contractor shall travel to the site provide diagnostic on the equipment.
4. Will the government bear the cost for all spare parts needed to repair the equipment?
a. Any parts or equipment required will be submitted to the COR and be purchased by the requiring activity (the unit). Upon the government purchase of parts required to fix equipment the contractor shall schedule a date within 96 hours of the equipment delivery.
5. Older equipment may be fully replaced and added by customer at no additional cost.
a. Yes, if a machine is fully non operative, the unit can replace the machine and the replaced machine will be the equipment that will get repaired if need be. Contractor should know which machines are non operative and should report the defective machines to the unit for repair parts or replacement.
