Contractor Questions and Government Answers for the Rivers Project, Indiana and Northern Long-eared Bat Monitoring, Solicitation # W912P922R0042

1. Do you have a KMZ sample area?

Government Answer: See attached KMZ map

2. Can we use more than one net set up per site and that counts as 2 NN?

Government Answer: We will allow for multiple locations to be set on the same night (often contractors will identify multiples sites close together that can all be monitored within allotted timeframes).

3. If we are unable to locate a roost tree (i.e. bat not found or bat trangulated) and we track for multiple days, will we receive payment if the tree was not located as specified in 6.3.6?

Government Answer: Yes as long as you can demonstrate reasonable effort is made to find the individual

4. What frequency, if any, is required by the US Army Corps of Engineers, MO and IL? I ask this because, transmitters and telemetry equipment may have to be purchased if we do not have the right one.

Government Answer: The Corps does not specify a specific frequency band for the transmitters.

5. Is this the first year of sampling this area? If not, were target species captured and successfully tracked in the past?

Government Answer: We conduct bat surveys almost annually on Corps properties, however these specific sites have not been surveyed yet. In the past our contractors have been successful nearly every year in capturing and successfully tracking Indiana bats. Northern long-ears are very rare on our lands.

6. Could you clarify the number of bats to be radio tracked. On page 3 of the SOW, the bid schedule states 6, but the section on Unit of Measure states 5. Also, does the Unit of Measure for emergence surveys include 3 surveys/bat?

Government Answer: We would like 5 radio tags places on target species (Indiana & Northern long eared bats). That is if the contractor is able to capture 5 of them. Emergence surveys would be done on tagged bats that the contractor was able to track to a roost on project land.

Bid schedule line item 9 quantity has been changed from 6 to 5.
