Q&A

Contractor question – Regarding purchasing agreements, “Does the corps want contractor to purchase items upon request.”

Gov answer – Yes, there are “supply” line items that the contractor will purchase and deliver to designated locations on government property.

Contractor question – What type of timeframe to accomplish work.

Gov answer - Depends on the job, typically ten days after task order initiation to begin work. A period of performance will be assigned to each task order and the work must be completed prior to that date.

Some items are weather dependent, but you will typically know in advance to schedule these projects.

For example, some projects have to be completed during low water, outside of public hunting seasons, or there may be a short window to spray invasive species and date must be scheduled so that public is warned.

Contractor question – “Does the Corps have past experience for work order / pricing?”

Gov answer – It will definitely depend on the year and what budget packages are received. During FY19, around $200,000 was scheduled in the task order in a six month period. The corps receives funds from the district, and sometimes at the end of the year and we may need to extend the task order. Every year things to expect are road and parking lot maintenance etc. There is a five year ordering period. Corps can schedule maximum in a year or over five years maximum for contract.

Contractor question – Does the corps plan to do most of the pumping yourself?

Gov answer - Yes, we plan to do most of the wetland pumping ourselves, however that can change.

Contractor question – Does the corps have any upcoming work you would like us to see that would be beneficial to our bid?

Gov answer - (Took contractors to rend city wetlands and to show recent work of agri-drains, pump pads, invasive species spraying, timber management, and pipe installation)
